GREEN EPICURE offers a comprehensive
range of wine & food tours in Northern California. We take a
Slow Food approach to travel, with an emphasis on discovering hidden
destinations, experiencing the terroir of the region, and creating
communal connections.
Our Wine Country tours visit smaller, boutique, and family-owned vineyards, farms,
and artisanal food makers, allowing you personalized interaction. You experience
first-hand from pioneers that are creating new models of agriculture that emphasize
local production, organic and biodynamic techiques, and a sensitivity to taste
and quality over quantity production.
Our emphasis throughout is on creating a fun and a convivial environment that
also teaches valuable lessons in sustainable agriculture and conscious living:
to touch the soil, to smell the aromas, to savor exotic tastes, and to meet the
farmers, winemakers, and artisans that have helped make it all possible.
Tours and workshops are available throughout Wine Country, from Sonoma and Napa
to Mendocino and Lake County. Customized Bay Area tours and workshops are also
available. Our programs include extraordinary meals and wine, produced sustainably
and artisanally. Lodging for overnight programs ranges from charming, locally-owned
B&Bs to a holistic ranch and retreat that provides permacultural gardens
in a lovely mountain and river setting. We also offer optional spiritual and
wellness activities for those who want to ensure a satisfying experience for
both mind and body. |

"Within a 200-mile
radius of San Francisco are some of the most innovative farmers
in America -- conventional and organic -- in a region that
has become a hotbed of a movement beginning to reshape American
farms and food. It aims to bring the forces of creative destruction
to agriculture -- to displace the industrial model of factory
farms and processed food with a web-style network that reconnects
small, local farmers directly with consumers."
